Honey Soy and Mixed Herbs Marinated Baked Chicken Wings

Hi ya’ll.. I don’t always eat chicken wings but I do eat them once a while. I believe everything in moderation and always try to cook your food the healthy way.

This is how I like to bake my chicken wings. It’s easy to prepare and simply delicious!

RECIPE:

4 Chicken wings
1 Shallot
1 Garlic clove
1 Tsp mixed herbs
2 Tbs soy sauce
1 1/2 Tbs Honey
Pepper

METHOD:

1. Pre-heat oven at 150C and line your baking dish with baking paper (easy cleaning later).
2. Pound the shallot and garlic
3. Mix all ingredients to the chicken. Rub all parts well. Marinate for 30mins minimum in the fridge.
4. Bake at 150C for 35mins or until you see the chicken has caramelized or a bit of charing. Served warm with veggies and rice.

You can try this recipe for your next BBQ party too! You can try with chicken drumsticks, thighs or chicken breast for healthier choice too.

  1. salam..hi sis..i’m your new follower..=) i’m happy to see lots of healthy recipes here..n would love to try them at home..i wanna ask u few questions. i already lost 13kg since mid 2012 till early 2013..and my current weight is 80kg (still in obese category). i maintain this weight since 2013 (plateau) due to my busy schedule, inconsistent in good eating habits and workout. so this year i wanna start back my new fitness resolution. before this, i already try to eat clean n do some workout routines like cardio, body weight training, and circuit training. On Feb 2013, i weighed 77kg from 80kg. Tapi x lame tu naik balik ke 80kg, n the highest 81kg..tp dia akan turun balik to 79kg..and till now, the number just play around that 79kg-81kg. smtimes i curi mase utk light workout..just to maintain my fitness level. my ideal weight is 64kg since my height is 1.64m. i scale myself once or twice a week. tp kdg2 jd stress sbb xde perubahan..dh setahun.. i know there’s something wrong with my eating habit, n workout routine. i know the first thing i should do is change my eating habit..then change my workout routine (cari yg lebih mencabar coz body dh selesa dgn current routine). so, here i wanna seek your advice and tips..i know ape2 pon bermula dgn eating habit then comes the exercise thing..xnak stress sgt fikir psl ni..sbb mempengaruhi..and fyi, my body shape is pear shape..so, you know where the fat stored the most. =) i know we can’t spot in reducing fat at certain body. i wanna need to focus on fat loss and build lean muscle. so, i wanna know any types of workout yg mencabar utk burn fat, and also foods that helps to burn fat instead of calories..and maybe a fitness plan for me? thats all and thank you in advance =)

    • Hi there. Thanks for following me. In regards to your question, if you want to build lean muscle mass you have got to do 3 things , Resistance, Diet and Rest (RDR).

      Resistance: do a lot of strength training and weights. For example: Squats with weights, lunges with weights, deadlifts, push ups, arm exercises with weights, etc. You’ve got to challenge yourself each time you are doing your workout. Keep your repetitions between 8-12reps, do 3-5sets. The benefits of doing resistance training is that it burn more calories coz you are building and strengthening your muscles up. It’s not just that, it’s the after-burn effect too where you will still burn calories at rest even after 24hrs.

      Below are examples of high intensity that will help you burn fat and build muscles at the same time.

      Warm up
      10-15min cardio- jog and sprint
      Squats with weights 12×3 sets
      Skip 30secs
      Rest 1-2min
      Lunges with weights 12×3 sets
      Skip 30secs
      Rest 1-2min
      Tummy tucks 12x3sets
      Skip 30 secs
      Rest 1-2min
      Bicycle crunches 12x3sets
      Skip 30 secs
      Rest 1-2min
      Plank 20secs x 3
      Cool down and Stretch
      Finish

      ***You can add arm exercises too.

      You also need to aim for at least 30mins-1hr workout per day for about 4x a week if you are really serious about losing weight and you also have to target at least to burn 300-500kcals on each session.

      Diet: To ensure that you are able to perform well during each workout session, you need to eat healthy. After your workout ensure that ur having enough carbs and protein as well. Try to eat a small post workout snack within 30mins after your workout (the magic window where it won’t be stored in your body). Make sure you are eating a balanced diet too. Eat a lot of fruits and veggies, plus drink a lot of water. You can read more about this at the ‘Diet Habit’ section.       In order to lose weight your calories in needs to be less than calories out. The best way is to pick foods that have fewer calories but high in nutrition. You can also find this info at #kaysnutritiontips hash tag as well.

      Rest: After your workout session, especially after doing resistance or strength training you need to rest. Rest is very important in order for your muscles to repair itself and grow. Plus if you don’t give it time to recover, you won’t be able to perform your best at your next session. Get at least 7-8hrs sleep for adults.

      My final advise is, try to measure yourself every week (girth measurement) & keep a record. Weighing can be demotivating at times so measuring yourself is more of a much positive approach. Weigh yourself every 2 weeks or once a month.

The key has always been eating right and exercising. That’s all. Try to set a goal for example 3months or 6months goal. Make sure your goal is realistic and achievable too.
