Craving for a sweet treat? Well, this muffin is the answer for ya! This Chocolate Banana Wholemeal Muffin is still quite delicious even though this is a ‘healthy’ recipe. You can keep them in the fridge in a zipper bag and warm it up in the microwave for later.
This muffin is great for breakfast or tea time snack. Enjoy it with your favorite coffee or tea! Your kids would love this muffin too!
Yield: 6 muffins
Serving size: 1
2 Ripe Bananas
2/3 Cup of Wholemeal flour (Tepung Atta in Malaysia)
2/3 Cup of Oat flour
2 Tbs Plain Yogurt
4 Tbs of milk
1 Tbs brown sugar or honey ( I find that 1Tbs is enough for me)
1 Tsp baking soda
1 Tsp vanilla essence
1 Tsp of vegetable oil
A pinch of cinnamon
2-3 Tbs of dark chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips (2 Tbs is enough for me 😊)
1. Pre-heat oven to 200C.
2. Mash the bananas
3. Whisk the egg and add the other ingredients except for chocolate chips. Mix well. Then add chocolate chips (Texture should be gooey & sticky).
4. Fill in your muffin cups 3/4 full. (I just cut baking paper into squares and put them in the muffin holes- im on budget! 😜 I kinda like the rustic look too 😊).
5. Bake them for 30 mins or until skewer comes out clean. Enjoy!
